Verbal abuse is a type of abuse that contains oral language and hand gestures some of the
things that involve verbal abuse are swearing shouting and hand gestures. Verbal abuse is
known as emotional abuse. There are many types of verbal abuse for e.g., manipulation. The
effects of verbal abuse are making the victim feel worthless and feel bad about themselves
which can make the victim have insecurities. The causes to verbal abuse can be depression
and it can make the victim not be motivated for things they love to do. The possible causes
of the behaviour verbal abuse could be they had abusive parents and they haven’t been
taught how to express how they feel and express their emotions another reason could be
that the person is anger. Another possible reason could be that the person has anger
issues and cannot control their temper.
Physical abuse is a type of abuse is used by physical force that can causes injuries to the
body. A form of physical abuse can be sexual abuse because it contains physical force.
Physical abuse is not always directed it can be indirect. There are many forms of physical
trauma which are kicking, biting, punching, suffocating and many more a victim of physical
abuse needs seek help before this causes depression and anxiety. The possible causes of
physical abuse could the child was Beating up and abused as a child or growing up this
child will act upon this as this is what he was taught. Another possible causes of physical
abuse could be the child was taught how to behave in the right manner. Another possible
cause could be that the child may have autism.
Destructive behaviour is when you destroy or damage your environment e.g., breaking a
person's phone would be destructive behaviour. Self-destructive behaviour is when you
harm yourself, starving yourself, cutting yourself and suicide. The causes of destructive
behaviour could be mental illnesses, alcohol, drugs childhood trauma. Peer pressure could
be a cause of destructive behaviour when a kid parents are divorced or the child might be
going through things and doesn’t know how to express his or hers emotions. The possible
causes of destructive behaviour could be that this child might be taking drugs and might
be drinking. Another possibility is that the child might be going through a mental health
issue and is self harming.
Illegal behaviour is an act that is against the law examples of illegal activities are drug
dealing, prostitution, theft, fighting, drinking while driving etc. Illegal behaviour. The causes
of illegal behaviour are peer pressure someone setting a bad example to them. Poverty is
major cause of why people commit crimes. The possible cause could be that the child grew
up to see their parents stealing from shops and drinking while driving and is acting on that
behaviour. Another possible behaviour could be that the child might see his parents going
through financial problems and doesn’t have anything to eat or doesn’t have enough
money to buy new things this will make the child commit illegal acts.

In this section of my assignment, I will be talking about self-destructive. Self-destructive
behaviour involves is when an individual is hurting or destroying themselves which are, self-
harming, starving yourself and isolating yourself there are many causes to self-destructive
behaviour. The main reasons of self-harming are physical, sexual and emotional abuse.
People who self-harm usually cut themselves on parts of the body where people can't see
for e.g., the thighs, wrist etc. Many people who self-harm is often diagnosed with mental
illnesses which could be anxiety, body dysmorphia, depression and eating disorders. The
reason why people self-harm can be because it’s a way of them to cope people commit self-
destructive behaviour because they feel like they feel like they need to punish themselves.
people who are self-destructing themselves often punish themselves with drugs or
starvation this will then lead to drug addictions and eating disorders. People who are self-
destructing themselves hurt themselves deliberately however it can also be a cry for help.
The causes of self-destructive behaviour are, drinking a lot of alcohol, bullying, depression,
and feeling insecure and hopeless can cause an individual to commit self-destructive
behaviour. Statistics show that the other causes of self-destructive behaviour could be the
parent was not present at the time of at childhood self-destructive is also caused by low
self-esteem it is shown that people who are more prone to self-destructive behaviour are
those who faced neglect and abuse growing up. The triggers of self-destructive behaviour
could be their mental illness is getting worse and they’re not receiving any support. Other
triggers could be if they have visited a place or seen something that has reminded them of
their trauma this will cause them to self-destruct. The symptom of self-destructive
behaviour is burning on the skin, starvation, isolating yourself from family and friends is also
a self-destructive behaviour. Other reasons of self-destructive behaviour could be that the
person who is self-destructive had a rough childhood and growing up they’ve witnessed
violence behaviour. There are many ways in which u can overcome self-destructive
behaviour which are identifying what self-destructive behaviour you are doing and
understand the reason and why you are doing it. Other ways you can overcome self-
destructive behaviour is speaking to someone about it and address it to them and tell them
why using self-destructive behaviour as a coping mechanism.
