Hoe ontstaat brand?
3 factoren aanwezig ⇒

2. Zuurstof
- Zonder zuurstof geen brand: normale samenstelling v lucht bestaat uit 20% zuurstof, wanneer
zuurstof verminderd naar onder 15% > vlammen doven automatisch
3. Brandstof (brandbare materialen)
Bij het ontbreken v 1 v 3 factoren = geen brand.
Hoe ontwikkelt brand zich?
1. Brandbaar object vat vuur (belangrijk hierbij ⇒ passieve & actieve preventie)
Door:
- Bepaalde ontsteking = warmtebron die voldoende energie kan afgeven om stof/ materiaal plaatselijk tot ontsteking te brengen.
Bv lucifer op tapijt, kortsluiting v apparaat
- zelfontsteking/ zelfontbranding = spontaan in brand schieten v substantie (door zelfopwarming). Bv parket oliën door met
katoenen doek erover te wrijven > wordt warm, bij weggooien v doek in vuilbak > vuilbak in brand schieten.
2. Brand breidt zich uit naar andere brandbare materialen (belangrijk ⇒ brandreactie vd materialen)

3. Brandoverslag (flash-over) (belangrijk ⇒ brandweerstand v constructie)
- Temp waarbij het plotselling ontbranden v hete rookgaslaag wordt bedoeld, moment v brandoverslag, is moment waarop (dichte
massa) rookgassen die zich aan plafond bevinden, brandtemp bereiken & onmiddelijk andere apparaten in buurt in brand gaan
steken
- Flashover ⇒ rookgassen aan plafond in brand schieten + alles rondom (600°C - 1200°C)
Zuurstof % (20%) afneemt
> minder 15% minder zuurstof & vlamen doven
Ruiten springen > aanzuiging nieuwe zuurstof
- Niet verwarren met ‘back draft’
Vuur waarbij vlammen al volledig gedoofd zijn, maar materialen nog blijven ‘smeulen’ & gassen afgeven. Vanaf moment dat
brandweer binnengaat > effect back draft: door deur te openen opnieuw zuurstof toegevoegd aan ruimte & schiet alles weer in
brand.
- Belangrijk: brandweerstand v constructie
Slaat op volledige constructie: vloer, wand… > zorgt dat brand niet kan doorslaan door bouwelement (niet hetzelfde brandreactie)
4. Branduitbreiding naar naastgelegen compartimenten
Verplicht in appartementsgebouwen: brandwerende deuren tussen toegang appartment en gang
- Min v 30 min: in die tijd brand wordt tegengehouden & vertraagd zodat niet doorslaat naar andere ruimten, eens die tijd gepasseerd > risico
