bacteriële meningitis
Bacteriële meningitis = hersenvliesontsteking, een ontsteking van de vliezen
(meningen) die de hersenen en het ruggenmerg omgeven. Wordt veroorzaakt
door een bacterie.
Bacteriële meningitis verwekkers:
- Groep-B-streptotokken
- Escheria cli
- Listeria monocytogenes
- Meningokokken type B
“vroeger” waren verwekkers:
- Haemophilus influenza type B (Hib)
- Meningokokken type C
- Streptokokken pneumoniae (?)
Epidemiologie:
De afgelopen 10 jaar is de incidentie van bacteriële meningitis met meer dan
50% gedaald
Symptomen:
Meningitis symptomen petechiën: sepsis
Sepsis: sepsis betekend bloedvergiftiging: een infectie in de bloedbaan. Dit
ziektebeeld kan alleenstaand, maar ook in combinatie met een
hersenvliesontsteking voor komen.
