-Drape, Clean Gloves, Supplemental Lighting if needed
Introduce self and verify the client's identity. Explain procedure to client.
Perform hand hygiene and observe appropriate infection control procedure
and wear gloves.
Provide for privacy, expose only the body part to be examined. Request the
presence of another woman if desired or requested by the client.
2. Inquire regarding the following: age of onset of menstruation, LMP,
regularity of cycle, vaginal discharge, number of pregnancies, labor or
delivery complications, painful urination, incontinence, history of sexually
transmitted disease and incidence of pain during sexual intercourse.
