In this assignment I’m going to describe different types of team
and the benefits of teams for an organisation.
A team is any group of people organised to work together
interdependently and cooperatively to meet the needs of their
customers by accomplishing a purpose and goals. Teams are
created for both long term and short term interaction. There are
a variety of four teams that all have a separate definition.
Formal, Informal, temporary and permanent. Having an
advantage in working in many of these environments I’m going
to explain all of them in a defined way.

First I’m going to start off with a formal team. A formal team is
a type of team that is created for a one purpose. The team
would usually have someone in charge which is generally called
a manager. This person would need to set out specific tasks or
a group of tasks. Formal teams usually have expectations about
the parts each team member plays. For e.g. a committee, this
generally lasts a long time and deals with recurrent problems
and decisions. For instance, your university or college probably
has a committee for student affairs to deal with recurring issues
that involve students’ lives. While members of this committee
may come and go, the committee remains in place over time.
To sum up a formal team, they work to achieve the same
objects.
Secondly informal - The informal organisation is the collection
of behaviours, interactions, norms, and personal/professional
connections. In other words it consists of a dynamic set of
personal relationships, social networks, communities of
common interest, and emotional sources of motivation. The
informal organisation evolves organically and spontaneously in
response to changes in the work environment, the instability of
people through its porous boundaries, and the complex social
dynamics of its members. To sum up an informal team, it’s an
