2) Minimum of 1 year of work experience in similar position – this qualification is included to
keep the company in a safer zone as employing someone completely new to the job and has no
prior experience is taking a risk for the company; it is a risk because the person may not have
proper working ethics which would negatively impact the business, for example the receptionist
may need more monitoring and extra training to ensure that they are fit for the job when most
of that can be excluded by employing someone with prior experience who knows how to handle
customers and doesn’t need constant monitoring. One year experience is enough to attain
necessary skills for this job role which may be beneficial for the company/business. This falls into
experience in similar role.
3) Must be computer literate – in row number five in the attached recruitment documentation we
are able to see that some of the main duty needs usage of the computer, e.g. number 4, 5, and 6
in row number five, and if the person employed doesn’t know how to use a computer properly
they will most likely not know how to handle some of these duties and since they are main
duties they need to be taken seriously and that is why this qualification is vital for this job role
and is kept in the documentation. This falls into knowledge of products and services.

In row number four there are the personal and communication skills needed for the job role of a
receptionist. Personal skills are skills that make you more attractive to employers and ones you possess
on your own, you can be born with it or attain them through experiences. While interpersonal skills are
skills are effective and efficient communication skills a person may possess.
