Describe the role internet marketing has within a modern marketing
context (Analyse and evaluate) – P1, M1 and D1

Analyse the benefits of internet marketing to customers M1
Evaluate the effectiveness of internet marketing in meeting customer needs for
selected business. D1
Introduction

Within this document I will describing the role of internet marketing has within a
modern marketing context. I will be also explain how businesses use internet
marketing for their businesses within the workplace. I will also be using the 7P’s
of marketing so that you can understand this document in a clearer way.

Internet marketing is very important for marketing business. Since sellers can
use it in different ways such as:

 Clarifying doubts
 Sharing information
 Selling products online
 Teaching your products
 About them
 And much more

These days every company uses internet because it is easier to connect with
customers, because all it takes is one click and then you’re connected with
someone. Before, businesses connected with customers by telephone, television,
and radio which was far too complicated, but now it is easier than ever to
connect to their customers because of the internet and vast amount of things
you can do one the internet.

Internet marketing is so poplar these days, because it such a good way to
advertise a certain product or a company, because of the vast amounts of people
on the internet. Businesses advertise certain products on the internet because
many people will see the product so that these means that the product or
business can be more recognised.

The 7P’s of marketing

The seven P’s are Place, product, promotion, prices, people, processes and
people. These marketing technique steps are used by every business, whether
private or public sector to make profit or make themselves noticed.

Product

Product is how a business will market there items for their specific target group.
Let’s say Samsung was about to launch a new product on to the market, before
launch there will be tests on the new product. These test will determine whether
the product is eligible for the international market. The tests also predict whether
the new product has the potential to sell a lot of units which will make the
company a lot of profit. Samsung is a huge multinational business so they will
already know that they will get many sales because they have a lot of loyal
customers willing to buy anything they put up for sale. When the product is for
sale, Samsung do everything in their power to get their new product know by

everyone so that they can make people aware of their new product so that they
can get more profits. The market these days is so competitive so it is imperative
that business try and give the best deals to their customers, making sure that
they are beating all their competitors who promote the similar products.
Businesses that compare with other businesses prices always do well because
they will always have the best deals while still making a fair and reasonable
amount of profit.

Place

The place is where the company wants to implement the product, that is where
they think they will be selling good way. The organizations are the ones who
decide how they want to sell their products directly to consumers whether or
through companies, internet, ETC.

The place for a product nowadays is on the internet because is so widely used,
and this can be a disadvantage because there are so many companies that sell
the same product online for example Amazon sell almost everything and they are
the most popular distribution company so many people just go their if they want
to find the product they want. Amazon usually have great deals as well to attract
customers so it is hard for other seller companies these days to attract loyal
customers because of what Amazon have to offer.

Moreover, the place that on the internet that companies choose to advertise
their products is key and the timing too. At 6pm most people are online because
it is the middle of the day and most people have finished work so that is when
they browse the internet to shop for things they want. This is where internet
marketing comes in to place because businesses that promote their products at
peak times will get the most recognition due to many people seeing their
products in which they might be interested.

Promotion

As I said previously, customers are always snooping around the internet for the
best deals so the most successful companies always deliver and advertise their
deals on the side of a random website i.e. YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. These
websites are the most popular website or the internet today so advertising on
these websites will cost a lot for money but t it will be worth it, because the
company that advertised on any of these websites will have a lot of people
entering their website looking at their great deals. This method is called the
‘push’ method because the advertisement is pushing and persuading customers
to come and shop on their website due to them having great deals which no
other company have on the internet.

On the other hand phone shops like Carphone warehouse and EE have many
great deals especially at Christmas. These phone companies always compare
with other phones branches and websites so that they can make sure that they
deliver the best packages for their customers who want to get a great deal and
save money. This is what you call good promotion.
