George Greens School
George Green’s School was established in 1828. George Green’s School offers an education for
children aged 11-16, they will be studying towards a GCSE qualification. George Green’s School
also provides BTEC and A-level qualifications for 16–19-year-olds in their Sixth Form Centre.
George Green’s School is catered for 12–19-year-olds that want an education and qualification.
The demographics of the school are both genders male and female students and teachers,
disabled students, and a mix of students from different ethnic backgrounds as well and
teachers. George Green’s School’s main competitors are St Paul's Way, Sir John Cass, and
Canary Wharf College. There are approximately 1165 students, 50.5% being Boys, 49.5% Girls
and 5.5% with an SEN education, Health, and care plan.
Ofsted’s latest report of George Green’s School was good. The main 4 points that I believe were
key are:
Introducing a new curriculum that is more appropriate for your pupils.
Introducing new quality assurance systems to monitor the quality of teaching.
Changing the structure of the school day to support deeper learning.
Restructuring the roles and responsibilities of senior leaders, as well as a full
restructure of the administration team.

The suggested improvements were:
Outcomes in science improve more rapidly, by all teachers ensuring that they
consistently challenge pupils in their learning, particularly most-able pupils.
Leaders and governors strategically monitor the progress of the most able
disadvantaged pupils, ensuring that pupil premium funding is used effectively to
improve their progress at key stages 3 and 4.
Aims for George Greens School:
Improve quality of teaching
Expand Sixth form
Offer more extracurricular activities
Offer a wider range of subjects for GCSE and A level students
To increase students' attendance
Aims and objectives for George Greens school in order from most important to least
important and the impact
To increase students’ attendance
This aim will be achieved by highlighting the importance of attendance to students and their
parents regularly as this will increase the awareness that the students should be attending
school to improve their grades and having a better chance in the future. This aim can also be
achieved by George Greens School providing rewards for students that have exceptional
attendance, things such as going on trips or providing them with gift cards. A third objective for
achieving this aim is to speak to students 1 to 1 by their form tutors and see if they require
extra support and find out why they are not coming in and what they school can do.
This aim would impact George Greens School as the increase in attendance would likely lead to
an increase in students with good grades which would impact the amount of funding the school
gets.
Improve quality of teaching
One objective of achieving this aim could be to provide teachers with more training and identify
their training needs to allow them to perform at a higher standard. A second objective would
be to employ more teachers to work in departments with the poorest quality of teaching
according to students and Ofsted inspectors. A third objective would be to gain feedback from
all students and see what their opinions are on the quality of teaching and how it can be
improved.
