1. I selected developmental context. I gathered information from my neighbourhood and community. The
reason why I chose this context is because developmental context is foundational to educational and
organisational aspects. Every individual educational & organisational well being is based on
developmental aspects.
2. Developmental context focuses on the developmental stages and milestones of an individual from birth to
adult hood. It entails studying and analysing the developmental stages of an individual, what affects it and
to counteract challenges.
3. Reasons for testing in the developmental context is to help analyse what would have caused damages in
one’s behaviours and personality.
4. Children and young people and adults are tested
5. Information gathered is stored in by the professionals conducting the tests and filed on paper
6. The tests are administered by one or more professional or paediatrician or child psychologist who is
qualified to administer and interpret the tests. The results are communicated verbally or in the form of a
report depending on the nature of test conducted, but most appropriately on paper
7. Examples of typical tests administered are interviews and test sessions aimed at testing cognitive,
educational and socio-emotional functioning.
8. Ethical issues need to be considered regardless of which group is being tested, confidentiality, consent of
individual and consideration of human rights pertaining to testing, no force is used and that the person to
be tested must have decided to do so. No judging of individuals.
