9.1 Wat motiveer ons?
Motieven: innerlijke drijfveren om op een bepaalde manier te handelen, beïnvloed door interne en
externe factoren

• Voelen v een behoefte of verlangen
• Activeren, selecteren, sturen en volhouden v mentale en fysieke activiteit gericht op
bevrediging vd behoefte of verlangen
• Reduceren vd behoeftesensatie

Prestatiemotivatie

• Extrinsieke motivatie: beloningstheorie/verwachtingstheorie
o Vb: geld of cadeau
o Als je denkt dat je het nt kunt, ben je minder gemotiveerd, zal je er minder voor
werken en zal het idd slechter zijn
• Intrinsieke motivatie: omwille vd activiteit zelf
o Opdracht op zich vind je al boeiend genoeg, je hoeft er gn beloning voor terug

Prestatiedrang (need for achievement): werken, succesvol, doorzetting...
=> Mensen met sterke prestatiedrang? Die werken vaak veel, zijn succesvoller en zijn gekenmerkt
door sterke doorzetting

Positieve en negatieve faalangst?

• Je hebt wel zin om iets te presenteren, maar ook angst dat je gaat falen
• Nt te maken met goed of slecht
o Positieve? Je gaat heel hard werken, je legt de lat nog hoger uit angst dat je het nt
zal halen
o Negatieve? Vanuit gevoel “ik kan het toch nt”, ik zal er ook nt voor werken,
wegvluchten ervan

Cross cultureel perspectief: individualisme/collectivisme

• Individualisme? Druk op individu, je hebt geluk zelf in de handen (heel sterk in WestEuropa)
• Collectivisme? Individueel presentatie is minder belangrijk dan voorbestaan vd groep

Effecten v beloningen op motivatie

• Overjustification (overrechtvaardiging)

= fenomeen waarbij je omgekeerd effect creëert

• Vb: kind knutselt iets moois vanuit zichzelf? Als je dan beloning geeft --> “ik vind het
leuk” verandert naar “ik vind het enkel leuk als ik beloning krijg”
o Vb: jeugdbeweging is nt betaald --> w anders een vakantiejob
