Geschiedenis portretten en begrippen HCKonrad Adenauer:
Vanaf 1917 burgemeester van Keulen, in 1933 door nazi’s ontslagen. Hoorde tot de
oprichters van de CDU in 1945. Bondskanselier vanaf oprichting BRD (1949) tot 1963.
Hij zorgde dat de BRD geïntegreerd werd in het Westen.
Willy Brandt
Lid van een radicale socialistische partij. Na WO II lid van de SPD. Werd in 1957
burgemeester van West-Berlijn. 1966 minister van Buitenlandse zaken. Bondskanselier
(SPD) van 1969 tot 1974. Kreeg nobelprijs voor de vrede vanwege zijn Ostpolitiek
(1971)
Leonid Brezjnev
Leider van de SU 1964 – 1982. Kondigde in 1968 de Brezjnev-doctrine af: de SU komt
te hulp als de macht van de communistische partij in een communistisch land wordt
aangetast. Heeft dikke wenkbrauwen…
Charles G. Dawes
Bankier en politicus, vicepresident van de VS onder president Coolidge. Berd
beroemd door het naar hem genoemde Dawesplan. Kreeg daar in 1925 de Nobelprijs
voor de vrede voor.
Michial Gorbatsjov
Laatste leider van Sovjet-Unie, 1985-1991. Probeerde de SU te hervormen
door Glasnost (openheid) en Perestrojka (hervormingen). Sloot het INF-
akkoord met de VS (1987). Verwierp de Brezjnevdoctrine en maakte einde
aan Koude Oorlog mogelijk. (heeft vlek op hoofd)
Adolf Hitler
Vocht in Wo I als vrijwilliger in Duitse leger. Werd in 1921 in München leider
van de NSDAP. In 1923 in München een staatsgreep geprobeerd te plegen. Zat
vervolgens jaar in gevangenis. Vanaf 1930 kreeg Hitler meer aanhang omdat
Duitsland in economische crisis zat. In januari 1933 benoemd tot rijkskanselier.
30 april 1945 zelfmoord gepleegd in bunker in Berlijn
Erich Honecker
Als communist in concentratiekamp 1935-1945. Eerste voorzitter van
communistische jeugdbeweging. Daarna in de leiding van de SED en later zelfs
eerste secretaris. Na opheffing DDR gearresteerd maar door gezondheidsredenen
vrijgelaten
Helmut Kohl
Bondskanselier CDU 1982 – 1998. Zorgde voor de hereniging van de DDR en de BRD.
