EcologieEmergente eigenschap → als er op organisatieniveau een nieuwe eigenschap
ontstaat die op er op lagere niveau niet is.
Ecosysteem → een min of meer begrensd gebied, waarin
een wisselwerking tussen biotische en abiotische
factoren optreedt. In een ecosysteem hebben abiotische
factoren invloed op op biotische factoren en andersom.
Biotische factoren → alle invloeden afkomstig uit de
levende en dode natuur. Voorbeelden: soortgenoten,
predatoren, organisch voedsel, ziekteverwekkers.
Abiotische factoren → alle invloeden afkomstig uit de
levenloze natuur. Voorbeelden: wind, regen,
bodemgesteldheid, lichtintensiteit, temperatuur,
bodem, water.
Leefgemeenschap → alle organismen in een ecosysteem.
Biotoop → alle abiotische factoren in een
ecosysteem.
Populatie → groep individuen van dezelfde
soort die in een bepaald gebied leven en
samen een voortplantingsgemeenschap
vormen.
Eutrofiëring → heel veel voedingsstoffen
komen in het water terecht.
Tolerantiegebied → omvat alle waarden van
een abiotische factor waarbinnen een
organisme kan overleven. De uiterste
waarde die een factor kan hebben waarbij
organismen kunnen overleven is de tolerantiegrens. Deze werkt als beperkende factor.
De meeste dieren leven in het optimumgebied.
Competitie → voedsel, partners, nestgelegenheid, ruimte, etc.
Coöperatie → paring, samenwerking voor rooftochten, verdediging, etc.
Habitat → de plek waar een populatie/organisme leeft met specifieke biotische en
abiotische eisen van een soort.
Niche → is de rol die een bepaalde speelt in het geheel van relaties in een
ecosysteem. De complexe interacties van een organisme met zijn omgeving.
Symbiose → het langdurig samenleven van verschillende soorten.

- Commensalisme → +/… (de ene een voordeel en de andere maakt het niet
uit)
- Parasitisme → +/-
Populatiegrootte → het totaal aantal individuen (van dezelfde soort) in een
bepaalde populatie. Om deze grootte te bepalen kun je gebruik maken van
vangen, merken en terugvangen.
