My roles and responsibilities are to make sure all the plans are ready to make sure there is a clear
aim and how we are going to achieve it, I will be booking the venue to allow us to have Cambridge
rugby club to run our event. I will also be producing an in-depth risk assessment to allow the safety
of all players and staff to be maintained. I will liaise with Luke to make sure all the right legal
documents are in place and be helping organise the event and make sure we have a successful
event. I am the health and safety officer and I will work closely with are committee to allow us to
produce the best event.
One of my strengths in the event was doing the in depth risk assessment. This is because I was able
to identify all of the risks the day prior to the event. This allowed me enough time to sort out
everything that wasn’t right so that I could ensure the safety of everyone there. Therefore by doing
the risk assessment well, I was able to confirm that the event could go ahead so we could carry on
organising as normal.
One of my areas of improvement is liaising with Luke for the legal documents. This is because I did
not check with Luke until on the day whereas I should have checked with him a few days before. This
means that if there were any legal complications (which there wasn’t) then we could have been sued
for not following the legal guidelines set for our event. Therefore, I should have checked this with
Luke a few days before so that we could make sure that legally, everything would be okay.
