In deze leeftijdsfase stopt een kind zijn energie in zijn sociale ontwikkeling en leren op school
(lezen, schrijven, rekenen).
Het kind gaat verbanden zien en logischer denken. Hij wordt creatiever met taal en het
inlevingsvermogen neemt toe.
Het kind wordt zelfstandiger en leeftijdsgenootjes worden belangrijk. Sociale vaardigheden
nemen snel toe en gaat een grotere rol spelen.
Interesses worden breder of juist specifieker.
Karakter van het kind wordt duidelijker (rustig of haantje de voorste, introvert of op andere
gericht)
Persoonlijkheid en gedrag zullen in de toekomst nog wel veranderen.
Innerlijke motivatie gaat een belangrijke rol spelen: bewust zijn best doen om successen te
behalen. Intensiteit en manier waarop hiervan zullen gaan wisselen per levensfase en
persoon.
