Introductie van toetsende statistiek door het onderzoeken van de algemene theorie van
hypothesetoetsen en het beschrijven van specifieke concepten die daarmee verband houden.
Doelstellingen
De student kent en begrijpt:
1. Het verschil tussen populatie-, steekproef- en steekproevenverdeling
a. Populatie verdeling: alle mogelijke waarden voor alle observaties uit de populatie
2. De relatie tussen toets-statistiek en steekproevenverdeling
a. Als je oneindig veel steekproeven neemt en daarvan de toets-statistiek ook neemt,
(t, F en X2), krijg je de normaalverdeling van een steekproevenverdeling
3. De nul- en alternatieve hypothese
a. H0 = geen verschil
b. Ha = er is wel een verschil, datgene wat je toetst
4. Het verschil tussen één- en twee-zijdige toetsen
a. Eénzijdig toetst alleen of iets hoger of lager is
b. Tweezijdig kijk je naar hoger én lager, je weet niet welke kant de uitkomst gaat zijn
5. Links- en rechts-zijdige alternatieve hypothesen
a. Links = kleiner dan
b. Rechts = groter dan
6. Type I en Type II fouten
a. Error I type: H0 wordt verworpen terwijl H0 eigenlijk wel klopt
b. Error II type: Ha wordt verworpen terwijl het eigenlijk wel waar is
7. Verwerpingscriterium α, verwerpingsgebied, kritische waarde en p-waarde
a. P = low, let the nulhypothesis go
b. Verwerpingsgebied is 5% of 0.05 bij éénzijdig en tweezijdig 0.025. Het gebied onder
deze waarde is het verwerpingsgebied.
c. Kritische waarde: de score die de hoogste 5% afsnijdt. Voorbeeld van 100
steekproeven en bij 5e bolletje de streep.
d. P-waarde is de kans dat je een bepaalde toets statistiek (of een meer extreme) vindt
als de 0-hypothese klopt.
De student kan:
1. Een nul- en alternatieve hypothese opzetten
2. Kiezen tussen links- en rechts-zijdige alternatieve hypothese
3. Kiezen tussen één- en twee-zijdige toets
4. Het stappenplan voor hypothesetoetsing doorlopen
