Dunne darm
Wand: vouwing zorgt voor oppervlakte vergroting om meer stoffen te verteren en op te
nemen. Hierin zit lymfeweefsel als afweerweefsel zodat er reactie kan worden gemaakt
als dat nodig is.
3 anatomische regio’s darm:
1. Duodenum: start vertering (absorptie voedingstoffen: glucose, vetten en
aminozuren)
2. Jejenum: groot deel vertering en opname vindt hier plaats
3. Ileum: grootste deel van dunne darm, voornamelijk opname (resorptie van
galzure zouten)
Dikke darm
1. Reabsorberen water
2. Absorptie mineralen
3. Productie van vitamine K en B8 door darmbacteriën
4. Opslag ontlasting voor defecatie
In de dikke darm bevindt zich ook vetweefsel, dit werkt als bescherming.
Regulatie van spijsvertering (hormonen en zenuwen):

Gastrine: afgifte of HCI en stimuleert motiliteit van maag
Secretine: remt afgifte HCI en stimuleert afgifte HCO3 en productie gal in lever
Cholecystokinine (CCK): afgegeven in duodenum door lage pH, leidt tot afgifte van gal en
pancreasenzymen
