Etiologie

1.1.1. Symptomen
Plotse acute ‘stekende’ thoracale pijn (zijkant) + dyspneu
Soms na inspanning/hevig hoesten
Pt niet steeds volledig symptomen dalen
Bij COPD = dyspneu stijgt + snellere hypoxemie + cyanose
Ventiel-of spanning patiënt
, CT – scan bij een pneumothorax. De
rechterlong is geschrompeld en
gedeeltelijk omgeven door lucht.
Tussen de ribben is waarschijnlijk de
doorsnee van een drain zichtbaar
Het lichaam kan men nog spreken van
visceraal en pariëtaal, waarbij
visceraal betekent dat de betreffende
structuur gehecht is aan, of
geassociaard met de ingewanden, en
pariëtaal dat het gehecht is aan de
lichaamswand (borst-of buik)

2.1. Fladderthorax
2.1.1. Definitie
Fladderthorax is het ritmisch bewegen van een deel van de borstkas wand. Hierbij zijn de
bewegingen tegengesteld aan de normale bewegingen die de thorax maakt bij de
ademhalingscyclus. Dit houdt in dat als de patiënt inademt zal het segment naar
binnen worden gezogen en bij uitademing wordt het naar buiten gedrukt.
Fladderthorax wordt veroorzaakt door een serie ribfracturen die dusdanig gelegen
zijn dat een segment van de thorax zijn verbinding kwijt is met de rest van de ribben.
Dit kan enerzijds een groep opeenvolgende ribben zijn die op 2 plaatsen zijn
gebroken of aan weerszijden van het borstbeen een aantal ribben gebroken
