2 In this study we are going to go over the struggle of children who have parents that are in the military. The hypothesis is that children who grow up while their parents are serving have more behavioral issues (or are to be increased) due the deployments their parents go on. Add that to the
number of deployments, age of the child or children to the length or frequency of the time apart affects the child(ren). Due to the rapid pace of some career fields that serve in the military some parents do not have the luxury of not going on the deployments while some career fields have the
option Either they (the military member and the family) have the other stresses of moving, having this uncertainty of when they will see either parents and getting that normal family life can be uprooted and changed at a moment’s notice. This can make it hard for them to want to settle in due the overwhelming fear of having to just do it again in a little time frame (Hains, Barker 2009). For the method section we will cover things such as who is participating, materials that maybe needed, procedure or how things are gathered and the results of the study. In some studies
that were done, they took evidence to demonstrate having a parent deployed has a socially and academical impact on them. One of the ways was to analysis or use statistical data from the military child to determine if there was a problem or if there was one that could arise. For the child a six month – nine to a twelve-month deployment could feel like an eternity. After going through one deployment and remembering the hardship the next deployment is expected to have more issues because of the past and what issues they had with it. First let us go over who is participating in the study, in this particular case it was done at a local school. There were three different locations, but the students all were in the sixth grade all close in age.
