Energie efficiëntie:
Afdamp (latente warmte) welke ontstaat tijdens het indampproces, wordt gebruikt bij de
opeenvolgende verhittingsstap. Het energieverbruik is hierdoor minimaal. In iedere opeenvolgende
stap wordt gekozen voor een lagere druk. Zo kan energie constant worden hergebruikt. Na de laatste
stap/trap condenseren om onderdruk te verkrijgen. Met koelwater kan onderdruk gerealiseerd
worden. Voor dit proces is verlaagde druk essentieel.
Klassieke indampinstallatie: verticale pijpen
Werking: Vloeistof stroomt door de pijp. Buitenkant bevat condensaat stoom
warmteoverdracht naar vloeistof vloeistof gaat koken damp stijgt op damp wordt
afgevoerd en concentraat verlaat de pijp
Nadeel: verblijftijd spreiding in de pijp. Hittebehandeling in de pijp is niet op iedere plek
gelijk.
Filmverdampers
Werking: grote pijp, dun laagje vloeistof stroomt langs de wand. Warmteoverdracht tijdens
afglijden product gaat koken.
Voordeel: propstroom. Dat wil zeggen dat de vloeistof op iedere plek dezelfde
hittebehandeling verkrijgt, hierdoor een goede warmteoverdracht.
Nadeel: kwetsbaar, kan leiden tot gaten aanbranden verstopping.
Oplossing: 1) verdeelplaat aanbrengen om kwetsbaarheid tegen te gaan. De vloeistof
verdeelt zich dan juist over de pijp. 2) schraper toevoegen aan warmtewisselaar.
Verdeelplaat
Werking: vloeistof wordt vanaf onder naar de verdeelpijpen gespoten. De vloeistof loopt
over de plaat en verdeelt zich over de pijpen. De damp wordt afgevoerd.
Nadeel: geschikt voor slechts 1 product.
