- Mediaal: dicht tegen de middenlijn van de hersenen
- Lateraal: aan de zijkant
- Proximaal: dichtbij
- Distaal: veraf
- Gebruikt in relatieve en absolute zin
o Vb. Superieur betekent niet dat het altijd gaat over iets aan de bovenkant van het
lichaam, het kan ook gaan over iets dat boven iets anders ligt
