Introduction:

The growth of social media began in the early 2000s and has been growing ever since, and today the
most popular platforms include Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and Facebook. Many people can share
photos and videos of themselves, family and friends, their daily activities on social media, and social
media also allows people to talk online at the same time, and they can share their views and opinions
and others. can communicate in many ways. This can give voice to anyone with access to a computer or
phone and also helps increase learning opportunities. But social media has been known to be addictive,
and this can lead to many social media users, especially the younger generation, spending most of their
time just scrolling. This is an example of how in places like schools, restaurants, bus stops and even
football fields, there are a few young people who always keep their heads down on their phones and
refuse to interact with people around them just because of social media. It's no secret that life today is
definitely different from the past. Parents should tell their children to go outside and play inside all day,
whether it's playing soccer with friends, playing different sports, skateboarding, etc. Now I believe that
parents should ask their children to go outside for fresh air and sports instead of sitting on social media
all day. For example: If someone spends most of their day watching what other people are doing on
social media, it makes them more interested in other people's lives and less interested in their own.
However, it is not considered as beneficial as face-to-face communication and is considered dangerous
because there are millions of different people on the Internet, because social media has also been
proven to have a negative effect on mental health, especially among the younger generation, because of
the low emotional level of users can also lead to poor social skills, drug addiction, unrealistic body
images, fights with family and friends, and cyberbullying.

Social media has a vital impact on people's sense of self and well-being, as there is a constant focus on
the other side and can be a problem comparing success and stability. People are considered to be
curious by nature, so many people can enjoy watching vloggers and bloggers on the Internet. Laura

, noted that "people can post their photos when their life is going well". No one wants to post things
because someone wants to delete that image, otherwise they have a perfect life. No one can report
being kicked out of their dream school, failing an exam, losing a loved one, or sitting at home bored at
night. Young people can post on social media if they get accepted to their dream university, score high
on a test, or have a night out with friends to celebrate. Every young person can experience ups and
downs in their life and this is something that should be accepted instead of ignored. When social media
users see all the things they are constantly participating in, they wonder, "Why aren't all these good
things happening to me and why do people think I'm unlucky?" This is more likely to lead to wanting
what others have instead of being grateful for all the blessings in one's life.

People being super active on social media can lead users to be super social in real life, but the opposite
can also happen. Social media can have a strong impact on social skills because online communication is
very different from face-to-face communication. Social media users are so used to being behind a screen
that they don't have to deal with the little things like eye contact, head nods, and other non-verbal cues
during face-to-face interactions. Nowadays, when people don't want to deal with a situation, they look
at their phones to avoid confrontation or not talk at all. For example, we can see this when we are
waiting to enter a class or university and all the students are outside and don't talk to other students or
want to meet them but prefer to dive into the online world instead of talking to friends who are in front
of them. they see A lack of social skills means younger generations spend more than half a day cooped
up in their rooms to talk to their online friends and see what they're doing, leading to distance between
families. Jules Evans mentioned that "there are more benefits to spending time in real life than spending
time on social media".

Many young people have become addicted to social media and the main reason for this is that it has
been found to release the neurochemical dopamine. Dopamine can be produced in different parts of the
brain and is considered to be very important for the daily functioning of the brain. These include
thinking, exercising, sleeping, motivation, approval, and seeking instant gratification. When someone
likes someone on social media, both can release dopamine and as a result feel the same way about
them and want to come back for more. According to the Pew Research Center, in their experiment
"Teens, Social Media," they stated, YouTube, Instagram, and Snapchat are the most popular social
networks among teens. Fully 95% of teens have access to a smartphone. and 45% are online almost
constantly. From this we can tell that less than half of these users almost never put down their phones.
Social media users enjoy posting a photo in the hope of getting many likes. the value depends on how
