Toen het Auditorium klaar was, was het het grootste, hoogste, duurste en zwaarste gebouw van
zijn tijd. Het was niet alleen een enorme civiele prestatie, maar ook een symbool van het succes
en de opkomst van de stad als cultureel centrum. De innovatieve engineering en het ontwerp van
het Auditorium brachten internationale erkenning voor het bedrijf.

Edisons lamp: 4000 Balls geven licht. Sulivan maakte van de akoestische tunnel het dominante
thema van het hele effect met de lichtballen. De akoestische tunnel werd ook een lichttunnel. Het
aantrekken van het oog en laten focussen op het podium.
Heel het auditorium is verlicht met deze lichtballen, alleen het element waar ze inpassen
veranderd.
