Hoofdstuk 2 Voortplanting§1. Ongeslachtelijke voortplanting
Celdeling
Celdeling ontstaat door een moedercel die zich tot twee dochtercellen produceert. Celdeling is
belangrijk bij de voortplanting, het groeien van organismen en het vervangen van oude of
beschadigde cellen.
Op natuurlijke wijze
Bij ongeslachtelijke voortplanting ontstaan nakomelingen door celdeling. De nakomelingen zijn
genetisch identiek aan de ouders.
Op kunstmatige wijze
Ongeslachtelijke voortplanting kan ook op een kunstmatige wijze plaatsvinden. Dit kan door
bijvoorbeeld stekken. Of door klonen. Klonen is het proces waarbij een genetisch identiek kopie van
een organisme wordt geproduceerd.
Celcyclus
Bij celdeling wordt eerst het DNA gekopieerd. Ieder nieuwe cel krijgt de helft van de erfelijke
informatie uit de moedercel en de ander helft uit het gekopieerde DNA. Aan het begin van de deling
spiraliseren de chromosomen, en na de celdeling ontrollen ze weer. De celdeling begint met de
kerndeling (mitose). Daarna ontstaat er plasmagroei.
