Positieve verschijnselen: duidelijk aanwezig.
Negatieve verschijnselen: afwezigheid van normaal gedrag.

Negatieve verschijnselen: afgevlakt, passief, verlies van plezier, initiatiefverlies,
aandachtsproblemen.
Denkstoornissen, waarnemingsstoornissen, aandachtsstoornissen, emotionele stoornissen,
motorische stoornissen en stoornissen in aandrift.
2- Diagnose
A- Kenmerkende symptomen.
Twee of meer van de volgende symptomen zijn gedurende één maand een belangrijk deel
van de tijd aanwezig:
- Wanen
- Hallucinaties
- Onsamenhangende spraak (frequent de draad kwijt raken)
- Ernstig chaotisch of katatoon gedrag
- Vervlakking van het affect, gedachten- of spraakarmoede of apathie.
B- Sociaal/ beroepsmatig functioneren.
Vanaf het begin van de stoornis ligt het functioneren voor een belangrijk deel van de tijd
duidelijk onder het niveau van voor de stoornis.
C- Duur.
Symptomen van de stoornis zijn gedurende ten minste zes maanden ononderbroken
aanwezig.
D - Uitsluiting van schizoaffectieve of stemmingsstoornissen.
E- Uitsluiting van het gebruik van middelen of een somatische aandoening.
F- Samenhang met een pervasieve ontwikkelingsstoornis.
Indien er een voorgeschiedenis is met een autistische stoornis of een andere pervasieve
ontwikkelingsstoornis, wordt de aanvullende diagnose schizofrenie alleen gesteld als er
gedurende minstens één maand, opvallende wanen of hallucinaties zijn.
