Abstract
In education, agency development in students is often described as very important. We must
know that in one's life agency is one of the most basic characteristics of human behavior in
general and has been defined as an individual's desire and capacity to do something or it can
also be called action. Learner autonomy is an ability to take charge of one’s own learning. The
study reported here has investigated EFL learner agency, learning autonomy in language
learning, how EFL learner agency is related to the language learning autonomy, features of
senior secondary school English instruction, and framework of promoting secondary school
students’ agency to promote their learning autonomy by using song as the media in the
teaching-learning process.

A. Introduction
Nowadays, technology has become an indispensable tool, even technology is able to
penetrate work and life aspects. Technology is the application of scientific knowledge to the
purposes of human life or, as it is sometimes called, to change and the human environment.
Nowadays skills are a key that is needed to be successful and thrive in life. However, if you
only have in-depth technical knowledge, it will not be enough. In the future, one of the
desired qualities is the ability to take the initiative in work. In the 21st century, the World
Economic Forum illustrates that initiative will become one of the skills that are in great
demand. Initiative exists with control, with purpose, and with conversation and initiative
can provide some insight into interruptions, failures, differences in beliefs between
participants, lack of interactivity among participants, and commitment to issues among
participants. (Cohen et al. 1998) Initiative is also described as the ability to combine the
hard and soft skills that students need to succeed.
In education, agency development in students is often described as very important.
