Leg de hand vanuit craniaal op het bekkenrand en palpeer de SIAS aan de ventrale kant.
Ga vanuit hier naar ventraal caudaal om de spina iliaca anterior inferior (SIAI) te palperen.

Superior (SIPS):
Volg vanuit de SIAS de Crista iliaca naar dorsaal. Palpeer rond het bekken tot
aan de SIPS. Volg vanuit hier de Crista naar caudaal om de spina iliaca posterior inferior (SIPI) te

Fossa iliaca:
Patiënt in rug- of zijlig.
Breng de heup in flexie (d.m.v. een rol) om de spieren te ontspannen. Leg je vingertoppen aan de
mediale zijde van de Crista iliaca.
Krul je vingertoppen rustig naar binnen over de rand en palpeer de oppervlakte

In zijlig, heup in flexie:
Palpeer het harde botstuk aan de distale zijde van de bil. Dit is de tuber ischiadicum.

Trochanter major femoris:
In buiklig, knie flexie:
Ga vanuit het midden van de crista iliaca naar distaal en voel de oppervlakkige trochanter major aan
de laterale kant van de heup.
Maak een endo- en exorotatie van het bovenbeen en voel de trochanter major onder de vingers
bewegen.
Tuberositas glutea
In buiklig:
Lokaliseer de posteriore kant van de trochanter major. Glij naar distaal tot je een kleine
verhevenheid voelt. Dit is de tuberositas glutea.
