I chose the multi-syllabus for Alberto because he requires to listen and speaking skills
which this course focuses on. He has had 8 years of coursebook grammar lessons hence
the primary focus will rather be on his weaknesses.
After watching the video, I find that Alberto lacks confidence and feels intimidated when he
answers some questions. He fears that he isn’t speaking with fluency, and he cannot
pronounce English words clearly. He finds it difficulty in listening and grasping key words
that could assist him in answering certain questions.
After reading the questionnaire I find that Alberto does have the ability to read and write,
it can be improved however it is good. Reading and writing tasks can therefore be used in
the first 5 hours of the lessons, l can test he’s ability and evaluate if it can be implemented
in the syllabus as something he is comfortable with. This can assist as a psychological win
as he will see himself improving and would want to learn more.
