Minaret = oproep voor gebed + versiering
Gebedsruimte = ruimte waar wordt gebeden (het dak heeft een koepel)
Wasruimte = ruimte voor rituele wassing van voeten, handen en gezicht.
Ruimte voor vrouwen = ruimte waar vrouwen afzonderlijk van mannen kunnen
bidden.
Preekstoel (minbar) = een verhoging met trap waarvan de imam preekt.
Nis in de muur (mihrab) = geeft aan wat de richting van Mekka is.
Kleine feest:
- Suikerfeest
- Feest als kroon op het vasten
- Eerst naar de moskee, daarna bij elkaar op bezoek -> elkaar vergeven/beginnen met
schone lei.
- Zoete lekkernijen eten -> symbool goede toekomst
Grote feest
- Offerfeest (schaap of geit)(leven wijden aan God)
- Laatste vier dagen v/d bedevaart naar Mekka.
- Alle moslims doen mee (ook de thuisblijvers)

- Vlees of geld aan de armen geven.
- Alle moslims richten zich in gedachten naar Mekka, waar het feest van Abraham
wordt gevierd. (wilde zelfs zijn zoon offeren)
