Session details;
For the warm the participant should do a light jog, after they have finished the jog they
should the do stretches which will be led by the session leader. They will do this so the
heart is pumping more blood around the body and so they are prepared for the cardio
based activities, they will do the stretches so the muscles are more flexible and so they
have a better range of movement. By doing this warm the participant will avoid injury and
the muscles will be loosened so they so the injury is reduced.
The circuit will already be set up before the lesson has started. The leader of the lesson
should do demonstrations of all the activities so that all the participants will know how to
perform the activity correctly and safely. The circuit will be made up of;
Shuttles
Step ups
Skipping
Push ups
Sit ups
Mountain climber
Star jumps
Squats
Ladders
Jog/sprint/jog
Lunges
I have chosen these activities as they will be able to be done for a short period of time but
still work the chosen system i.e. the cardio system and the muscular system. Each activity
will be performed for 1 minute with a 30 second rest in between each of the activities. By
having the rest period after each activity it give the participant chance to move to the next
activity and a chance to catch their breath so they can continue to work at their best
intensity level.
For the cool down the participants will perform stretches which will be performed by the
leader so they can follow, they will do these stretches so that all the waste products that
been created by doing the exercises for example lactic acid. They should also do a slow jog
which then will slow to a walk this will help them to cool down and remove waste
products. By doing the static stretches it will lower the heart rate so it will return to its
normal BPM (beat per minute).
