Bookreport VMBO 3

1. Title of the book: The title of the book is ‘’Blind Date’’.

2. Author: The author of the book is R.L. Stine.

3. Explain the title of the story. (At least 25 words)
The titel of the book is ’Blind Date’. Blind date means that two people make an appointment
without seeing each other. In the book Kerry has made an appointment with Mandy without
seeing each other and that explains the title of the book.

4. Who are the main characters? (At least 20 words per character)
The first main character is Kerry Field. Kerry is a boy who lives with his father and little brother.
His big brother is in a mental hospital. Kerry is in the football practice.

The second main character is Mandy (Nancy Kelly). Mandy goes out on a blind date with Kerry
Field. She escaped out of the mental hospital as where the brother of Kerry is.

5. Where does the story take place? (At least 25 words)
The story takes place in Doncaster, England. Everything that the people experience happens in
Doncaster. The blind date that Kerry and Mandy have is also in Doncaster.

6. What do you particularly like and dislike in this book? (At least 25 words)
(Wat vind je vooral leuk en juist niet leuk in dit boek?) (Dus NIET makkelijke/moeilijke woorden!)
I very liked the book because it was a horror novel which I find the most pleasant genre to read. It
has a very unpredictable ‘plot’ and unusual story line as other horror novels I read. In this book the
girl, Mandy, is the ‘horror’ and not a ghost or a monster which was very surprising. It was creepy in
a different kind of way. The book kept me guessing which I very liked.

What I disliked in this book is that writer very detailed over the family life of Kerry. For the story it
is ofcourse important (especially the brother, Donald) but it didn’t had to been this so much
detailed.

7. What is the book about? Write a short summary (samenvatting) in about 300 words.
