TUMBA U-J, CEMENTERIO U DE ABYDOSLa tumba U-J, es la tumba más
importante de todo Egipto. El proyecto
inicial de esta tumba consiste en diez
cámaras, nueve de ellas situadas en tres
por tres al este y una grande al oeste, la
que sirvió como cámara funeraria. Fueron
añadidas dos cámaras más para añadir el
espacio a las ofrendas. El propietario de la
tumba era un rey ya que se encontró un
cetro de marfil completo.
Aunque lo más importante de la tumba es que en ella se han encontrado los
testimonios de escritura más antigua, lo que supuso el origen de la escritura egipcia.
Este origen de la escritura estuvo muy relacionado con el ritual de los reyes,
destacamos que los signos son los mismos que aparecerán en la escritura
jeroglífica. La escritura jeroglífica es una escritura pictográfica, imágenes que
reproducen seres u objetos de la realidad.
También se encontraron secuencias de uno a cuatro signos grabados sobre
etiquetas de hueso o marfil, estas etiquetas poseen un agujero para sujetarlas a las
ofrendas con las que se relacionaban.
