Objective:
To verify how the angle and initial speed affect the trajectory of a projectile.

Procedure:
1. After clicking the simulation link, choose LAB.

2. On the upper right side of the simulation screen, choose FOOTBALL and use constant values for diameter and
acceleration due to gravity at 0.15 m and 9.80 m/s2, respectively. Do not tick air resistance. Refer to the table
below for the mass assignment for your group.

GROUP NO. MASS
1 0.5 kg
2 1.0 kg
3 1.5 kg
4 2.0 kg
5 2.5 kg
6 3.0 kg

3. Study the controls of this simulation package and perform the experiment according to the settings specified in
each table found on the data sheet. Make sure that the initial height of the projectile is zero all the time as shown
below.

4. Determine the time, range, and height values at specified points in the path by using the marker from the
reader as shown below. These are SIMULATION VALUES. The maximum height is the highest vertical elevation
reached by the projectile while the total time of flight and maximum range are measured at the landing point.

, 5. Do the required computations for the THEORETICAL VALUES using the equations of projectile motion.
Determine the percentage difference between values.
