In this assignment I will evaluate the analysis that I made in M1. I will evaluate the contribution of
relationship marketing activities to the effectiveness of the marketing functions into the KLM. I will
also explain how the effectiveness of a marketing is measured. I will also search for data to explain
what I told, Hereby I will also explain what is an reliable and unreliable source of data. The main
question of this D1 is if marketing activities make enough money to coffer their costs. For the D1 I
will use KLM just as in the previous assignments.
The marketing activities that I used in the M1 need to be measured
on how effective they are you can do that by questionnaires or
customer reviews. But you can also look how much sales the made
after doing certain commercials, you can also look of people
remember let’s say the commercial when it doesn’t appear on
television anymore. This happened with the swan commercial of
the KLM that was on television in the 90’s. about 15 years later
people still remembered the commercial. When people like a
certain commercial they most likely think of the KLM when buying
tickets for a flight. I got this information from
http://www.markethings.net/reclameklassieker-de-klm-zwaan/. I
think this source is reliable because they use numbers and
percentages, they also reference to things people told about the
commercials and the spoke with the creator of the commercial. So
one thing we can say about the commercials KLM made is that they
were very effective because a lot of people still know them.
I can’t exactly find how much the swan commercial costs but I can make think what attributes where
used within the commercial and how much they are about to cost. For the recording of a commercial
the prices varies from about €999,- for the worst recording and from about €2500 for the better
recording. When you made a commercial you of course also need to put it on television. That costs
the most of the commercial, the cost of the commercial coming on television depend on when you
want to put it on television. When you want to do it during something like the world cup you need to
think about a price of €40.000 - €50.000. when you want to do it during a popular program on RTL4 I
will cost you about €30.000 and these prices are for a commercial for about 45 – 60 seconds. For the
making of the commercial I think it’s about €30.000 - €40.000 I think this because KLM has to buy the
swans has to go the an island where they can film, has to pay for the travel. So the commercial will
cost about €100.000 to make when you put the commercial on television once during primetime. I
got this information from: http://muziek-en-film.infonu.nl/televisie/51841-wat-kost-een-
commercial-tv-reclame.html I think this is good information because they use a lot of numbers.
