For this P1 I will describe two different internal planning factors and I will relate them to Harrods.
And I will do the same with the external planning factors. I will do this with a flow chart.

For the internal factors I will chose the organisational needs and the skills requirements.

One of the internal factors is the organisational needs. The organisational needs mean if a company
is changing to let’s say another product the chance is that more specialised people will work with
that certain kind of product. This can also be if a company goes into another country than the
employees should be able to also speek that language so the needs of the organisation change what
kinds of people work at the organisation and when the needs change it’s also possible that the
people change within the company. So how does this all relates to Harrods?... well if Harrods diceds
to imploment a new brand into their store and remove another brand Harrods wants to have
employees there to work who know everything about that particular brand. For example if the
dicede to replace Gucci for Prada Harrods wan’t to have more staff that is spacialised in Prada and
the don’t whant the staff that knows all about Gucci because they won’t sell it anymore.

Another internal factor are the skills requirement that the emplooyees need. When having a
business you can be two kinds of business. You can be a capital intensive business this is a business
where there is a lot of machinery involved with the production process. But you can also be a Labour
intensive business this is where there are a lot of people involved within the production process. It’s
also possible that the work you need to do changes but the company doesn’t want to fire you. Then
they can set up a training programm with this trainingprogramm it is a wini-win situation because
you keep you job and the company keeps it’s hard working employee. This also relates to Harrods
because ofcaurse they are a labour intesive company because a lotof poeple work there and hardly
any machinery is used within the store. They also set up trainingprogramms for their employees, in
these training programms the employees can learn about a new product or about a new job
describtion that they are getting.

if the demand for certain
products changes the personell
also does.

organisational needs

if Harrods diceds to remove a
product the employees working
at that certain product also have
to change their jobs

internal factors
within a job you needs certain
skills. if you don't have those
skills but still work their the
company can train you to learn
these skills
skills requirements
if a product at Harrods changes
so do the people let's say if they
get a new brand people need to
be trained to know everything
about that brand.
