About England:
-England is a part of the United Kingdom. The UK consist of 4 countries:
England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Of which England is the largest
one out of them.
-It was created in 927 AC
-England has 53 million inhabitants, it contains about 84% of the United
Kingdom’s population and is 13030 square kilometers
-It’s part of a constitutional monarchy, that is a form of monarchy in which the
position of the monarch or regent is regulated in a constitution.
-And the monarch is queen Elizabeth the second. She’s the queen of the United
Kingdom and has been so since 1952.

London:
-London is the capital of England, it’s also the largest city in England.
-London is one of the 11 alpha world cities.
-The population is 9 million inhabitants and is 1572 square kilometers.
-The mayor of London is Sadiq Kahn
-London has many tourists every year, it’s one of the most visited cities by
international tourists. It attracted around 20 million tourists in 2018.

Sights:
-Big ben ->
The Big Ben is a nickname for the big clock in the bell tower of the Palace of
Westminster.
It’s named after the politician Benjamin Hall
It was created in 1859 and the tower it’s part of is 96 meters high.
-Tower Bridge ->
The Tower Bridge is a suspension bridge in London.
They started building it in 1886 and finished in 1894.
It’s 61 meters high and the length of the bridge is 244 meters.
It’s above the River Thames.
-London Eye ->
London Eye is a Ferris Wheel in Lambeth in London.
It’s ceremonial opening was in 1999 and the first passengers were welcomed in
2000.
It costed 70 million pounds and its around 135 meters high.
-Buckingham Palace ->
The palace is the official residence of the British Monarch.
The building was finished in 1850.
It has a total of 775 rooms, and it owns the largest garden of London.
The palace is also well-known for its security. The Queen’s guards. They wear
red uniforms and a tall hat.
-British Museum ->

Famous people/fictional characters:
-William Shakespeare -> William Shakespeare was a well-known playwriter in
the 16th and 17th century. Some of his most known plays are Hamlet and Romeo
and Juliet.
-Charles Dickens -> Charles Dickens is a famous author; he has written many
books including A Christmas Carol and Oliver’s Twist. A lot of his books were
also made into movies.
-Harry Potter -> Harry Potter is a fictional character written by JK Rowling. Harry
Potter has a total of 7 books and 8 movies.
-One Direction -> One Direction was a really popular boyband among teenage
girls. They disbanded in 2015 so they could pursue solo projects.
-The Beatles -> The Beatles was a band from the 60’s. Some popular songs
were Hey Jude and Here Comes the Sun. They disbanded in 1970.
