This paper consists of 6 pages. (Annexure A excluded).
Instructions:
1. Scan or enter the QR-code before you start the exam. (See page 3).
2. Please include your student number on your exam answer script.
3. You are allowed to access your prescribed works and the study material. You are however not allowed
to copy verbatim from your study material. You should provide answers in your own words. In the case
of any cheating or plagiarism no mark will be allocated.
4. The exam can be downloaded on Wednesday 11 October 2023 at 09H:00 and must be uploaded by
Wednesday 11 October 2023 at 13H00. Should you complete your exam before the official completion
time, please commence the uploading of your exam answer file immediately, do not wait for the
session to conclude.
5. The system will close at 13H00 on 11 October 2023 (South African time) and all late submissions will
be rejected. NO LATE EXAM ANSWER FILES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
6. We prefer that you type your exam answers and then upload your exam answer file as a single PDF
document on the myExams platform. Incorrect answer scripts and/or submissions made on
unofficial examinations platforms will not be marked and no opportunity will be granted for
resubmission
7. The exam answer file must be uploaded as a PDF electronic document and not as a scanned image.
Do not password-protect your PDF file or uploaded as “read only” file. Incorrect file format and
uncollated answer scripts will not be considered.
8. See Annexure A at the end of the exam paper on how to upload your exam answer file on myExams.
Additional student instructions
1. NO e-mailed scripts will be accepted.
2. Students are advised to preview submissions (answer scripts) to ensure legibility and that the correct
answer script file has been uploaded.
3. Students are permitted to resubmit their answer scripts should their initial submission be
unsatisfactory.

4. Incorrect file format and uncollated answer scripts will not be considered.
5. Incorrect answer scripts and/or submissions made on unofficial examinations platforms (including the
invigilator cellphone application) will not be marked and no opportunity will be granted for
resubmission.
6. A mark awarded for incomplete submission will be the student’s final mark. No opportunity for
resubmission will be granted.
7. A mark awarded for illegible scanned submission will be the student’s final mark. No opportunity for
resubmission will be granted.
8. Submissions will only be accepted from registered student accounts.
9. Only the last file uploaded and submitted will be marked.
10. Students who have not utilised invigilation or proctoring tools will be deemed to have transgressed
Unisa’s examination rules and will have their marks withheld. If a student is found to have been
outside the invigilator app for a total of 10 minutes during their examination session, they will be
considered to have violated Unisa's examination rules and their marks will be withheld.
11. Students have 48 hours from the day of their examination to upload their invigilator results from the
Invigilator App. Failure to do so will result in students deemed not have participated in the online
invigilation.
12. Students must complete the online declaration of own work when submitting. Students suspected of
dishonest conduct during the examinations will be subjected to disciplinary processes. Students may
not communicate with other students, or request assistance from other students during examinations.
Plagiarism is a violation of academic integrity, and students who do plagiarise or copy verbatim from
published work will be in violation of the Policy on Academic Integrity and the Student Disciplinary
Code and may be referred to disciplinary hearing. Unisa has zero tolerance for plagiarism and/or any
other forms of academic dishonesty.
13. Students are provided 30 minutes to submit their answer scripts after the official examination time.
Submissions made after the official examination time will be rejected by the examination regulations
and will not be marked.
14. Non-adherence to the processes for uploading examination responses will not qualify the student for
any special concessions or future assessments.
15. Queries that are beyond Unisa’s control include the following:
i. Personal network or service provider issues
ii. Load shedding/limited space on personal computer
iii. Crashed computer
iv. Using work computers that block access to myExams site (work firewall challenges)
v. Unlicensed software (e.g., license expires during exams)
Students experiencing the above challenges are advised to apply for an aegrotat and submit
supporting evidence within ten days of the examination session. Students will not be able to apply for
an aegrotat for a third examination opportunity.
