What’s in a name
Beeldtaal = taal van beelden, proces waarin beelden de taal vormeen. Taal is een systeem van tekens dat
mensen in staat stelt te kunnen communiceren.
Primair communiceren mensen met elkaar via het spraakkanaal; als gesproken woord (dat gebaseerd is
op klanken). Secundair kan taal worden ‘gevangen’ als tekst; de klanken worden omgezet naar een
complex systeem van geschreven tekens, die samen woorden en zinnen vormen. Tertiair kan taal ook
worden omgezet naar visuele middelen. Daar gaat deze leuke, interessante cursus over.
Er is altijd sprake van een “rhetor” /spreker/zender van informatie. Een taalvorm (gesproken,
geschreven, visueel) is het middel waarmee de spreker het communicatieve proces tot stand brengt. Het
is ook de vorm die de boodschap aanneemt in het proces. De boodschap komt - als alles goed gaat - aan
bij de ontvanger (bv. een luisteraar, lezer of kijker). Als de spreker een boodschap succesvol weet over te
brengen aan de ontvanger, spreken we van communicatie.
