This short report is about an article I found about a woman who had an abortion and was subsequently arrested for it. I'm writing about whether I thought this was good or bad, and whether morals are common.

, A. Woman that took abortion let free
in El Salvador after 9 years
B. The article is about a woman that is from El Salvador, a country whose
President is very against the practice of abortion. The woman named Sara
Rogel, was 8 months pregnant when she had sudden pains. Then, Sara
was rushed to the hospital by her family because of internal bleedings. The
doctors thought it was vague and admitted her to the police, where she
was initially sentenced to jail for 30 years. Her lawyers later made it
possible to get it reduced to 10 years. The main ethical subject of this
article is if taking an abortion is morally right and if not, should you be
punished for it?
C. Abortion is a subject that is discussed all around the world, and everyone
has a different opinion about it. Some might say it is permissible, while
others are extremely against it. Not long-ago Texas, a state in the USA,
introduced the abortion law. This law bans almost every abortion taken
after the embryo is older than 6 weeks. This stirred up a lot of citizens,
which led to many protests. The opinion is very diverged. Many anti-
abortion activists claim that taking an embryo away is considered murder
and therefore not ethically right (human right: the right to life art. 2).
However, other pro-abortion activists say that it is up to the mother to
decide whether she wants to abort the baby because it is her body. They
also argue that the embryo has no conscious yet, so it is not really taking
away a life because the baby has no awareness of it being taken away.

texas-abortion-law-in-place-but-agrees-to-review-it
D. On this matter, a doctor named Dr. Alan Braid stationed in Texas violated
the extreme anti-abortion law. Although it is a risk for his job, he was willing
to take it. “I acted because I had a duty of care to this patient, as I do for
all patients, and because she has a fundamental right to receive this care,”
Dr. Braid wrote. “I fully understood that there could be legal consequences
— but I wanted to make sure that Texas didn’t get away with its bid to
prevent this blatantly unconstitutional law from being tested.‘’

This concludes that Doctor Alan, a professional on the abortion matter, is
ready to meet a patients’ needs although it goes against the morals of the
Texas government.
Don Marcus, a professor of philosophy at the University of Kansas, argues
that abortion is seriously not allowed. He says that abortion is killing a
premature baby and therefore murder. We cannot let our ignorance get in
the way and take away a life.
