De zwangerschap
Stadia prenatale ontwikkeling
-Germinaal (bevruchte eicel) > 0 tot 2 weken > bevruchting,indaling,innesteling
-Embryonaal > 2 tot 8 weken > Aanzet oorgaanvorming: hart,huid,zenuwstelsel,skelet en
spieren
-Foetaal > 8 tot 38 weken > Groei,borvorming en hersenen
Plasticiteit: de mate waarin ontwikkelings-gedrag of fysieke structuur kan worden gewijzigd
-Er is een overvloed aan zenuwcellen en ze krijgen pas na een tijdje hun specifieke functie
Zo lang ze die functie nog niet hebben, kunnen ze nog allerlei functies aannemen
Na beschadigingen in de hersenen, kunnen dus nog niet gespecialiseerde zenuwcellen
andere functies overnemen (dit is beperkt)
Kritieke en gevoelige periode:
-Groeitempo varieert tijdens de ontwikkeling
-Niet alles aan het lichaam groeit tegelijk even hard
-Naarmate je ouder word,zie je dat het hoofd kleiner wordt
Kritieke periode: een specifieke tijd in de ontwikkeling waarin een bepaalde gebeurtenis de grootste
gevolgen heeft
Gevoelige periode: een afgebakende periode,meestal vroeg in het leven van een organisme,waarin
dat organisme extra gevoelig is voor de omgevingsinvloeden die betrekking hebben op een
bepaaldfacet van de ontwikkeling.
