Data concerning the levels of sex hormones at different times in the menstrual cycle in relation to
fertility.
The menstrual cycle is one of the processes in ovulation. This happens in women only and it happens
only for the purpose of sexual production. Different women have their menstrual cycle ever month
but other women have it only like once every few month such as instead of once every month.
However it is very hard for ovulation or fertilisation to happen in women which have some irregular
menstrual cycle. The menstrual normally happen every month but it could change during the 28 days
of the cycle. Those changes can be for various reasons.
The system which is responsible for the menstrual cycle is the endocrine system. For reproduction to
happen the menstrual cycle has to happen. If it doesn’t happen then reproduction won’t happen.
The reproduction process is split up into 3 stages and those stages are, Follicular phase, Ovulation
and Luteal phase
To prevent production in women she would need to go through hormonal changes in the body but
also hormone contraception. Hormonal contraception is known as birth control method. There are
two types of hormonal contraception. One of the methods is progestrogen and this is made up of
progesterone only.
The amount of oestrogen produced in the follicular increases a lot. Blood get discharged from the
body and this happens until there is no more blood gets given out by the body. After this has
happened the lining of the uterus then starts to thicken a lot. After this several hormones in the
body makes the follicles in the ovary start to develop. Midway through the cycle approximately
around 1 to 2 days after the luteinizing hormone has been releases the dominant follicle ten gives
out an egg. This is known as the ovulation stage. After the ovulation the egg is able to survive for
about 1 day without it being fertilised.
Any left over from the dominant follicles start to change into the corpus letuem. The corpus letuem
is the one responsible for creating the progesterone. The progesterone is vital due to that it is able
to change the lining of the uterus for implantation. If the implantation does not happen then the
corpus luteum will then disappear because it was not needed, Due to this it will cause a decrease in
oestrogen and progesterone and this will lead to the uterus shedding the lining and egg and this
process is known as menstruation. The main reason for why the implantation did not happen is
because the egg did not get fertilized in time with a sperm. The menstrual cycle is able to tell female
that they are not pregnant but the problem with this is that this is not trustworthy because some
women could still have their period during the very early stages of pregnancy.
