8. What were the guilds and how did they help their members? The Guilds was a means
by which an specific trade was established to a more refined stage and transmitted
to a new generation. It empower craftsmen to bargain for better wages. Also they
were able to get pensions for the disabled members or in case that they died their
families would be taken care of & not remain hopeless.


9. Why were Gothic cathedrals important for medieval society, and in some manners still
are today? It was important because they wanted to reflect God ’s house for a place
