Genética. Es la ciencia que estudia la herencia biológica, es decir, la transmisión de
los caracteres morfológicos y fisiológicos de un ser vivo a sus descendientes.
Genética mendeliana o mendelismo. Es la parte de la Genética que estudia la
transmisión de los caracteres hereditarios, teniendo en cuenta las proporciones
matemáticas en que aparecen estos caracteres entre los descendientes.
Genética molecular. Estudia las moléculas que contienen la información biológica
(ADN) y los procesos bioquímicos de su transmisión y manifestación (replicación,
transcripción y traducción)
