What are the advantages and disadvantages for companies of product endorsements?
(Zad C str 7)
I think that promoting the product by known people is on the one hand good for the
manufacturer and the person who recommends this product. Thanks to this, the
manufacturer can sell more products and reach new customers who like and follow a
well-known person. Moreover product endorsement allows a famous person to do the
same. On the other hand, working with the wrong person with bad collocations can lead
to losses. Both the company and this person may lose their image.
How can companies create brand loyalty?
The most important thing in building customer loyalty is offering high quality of products
and services. The product must always be available so that the customer does not have
to wait for it. Price reductions and special offers for those most involved are a good
thing too. The company should also remember about after-sales service, for example
warranty service, complaint handling.
Think of a cheap or expensive idea for a product launch.
My idea for an inexpensive launch of a product is to develop my own fanpage on social
media and online advertising. This is how many companies are entering the market.
Larger companies use famous people and TV advertising to promote new products. It's
way more expensive but it reaches a large group of customers.
What action can companies take if they start to lose market share?
Companies can invest in advertising, for example by giving samples of their products.
They can also introduce a newer version of their product. They can rebrand some
products or whole company. Maybe then customers would trust the new brand and buy
more products. Changing the image can be a good action. Other way to keep
customers and market share is introducing a loyalty program. Clients will stay with the
company.
Which of these business situations would worry you most? Why? (zad C str 22) You find
out that your company will be merging with another company.
I am not sure I will still have a job. I'm not sure I will still occupy the same position.
Nobody knows whether the company will relocate. Nobody knows about remunerations.
I don't know who I will work with.
You keep your job after a merger, but you are in a less powerful position.
I will earn less. I may have to look for a new job. I will no longer be a manager and I will
have to listen to the others.
You keep your job after a merger, but you have to take a salary cut.
I have a loan I will not be able to pay it back if my salary decreases.
Your company has to relocate to the other side of the city.
I will have to pay more for transport. Maybe I will have to buy a new house. My children
will have to change a school.
You are asked to relocate to a foreign country.
I have to learn a new language. I don't know the culture. I won't be able to communicate
with my colleagues. There will be a different management style. I will have to change
my habits at work and in my everyday life. But the worst thing is that I won't see ma
family everyday.

, You are promoted, but you are now in charge of a hostile workforce.
I have to show my experience, qualifications and be righteous (sprawiedliwy). I have to
find the reason why they hate me.
You have to move from your own office to a large, open-plan office.
Working in open space doesn't bother me.
You have to work with a completely new computer system.
Learning a new system may take me some time but it is only technology. In the future it
can improve my work.
You have to decide who to make redundant in your new department after a merger.
This is a big responsibility. I don't know all the employees and I don't know who is the
best. Former colleagues will be angry if I release them.
Your company language becomes English.
I need to learn specialized words in a business language but I think i'm going to like it. I
will have everyday language practise.
Which of the words in exercise F can describe good qualities of an organisation?
In my opinion, good qualities of an organisation should be decentralised, caring,
democratic, dynamic, professional and progressive. This is what makes a company
effective.
Which of the words in exercise F can describe bad qualities of an organisation?
And bad qualities of an organisation will be bureaucratic, centralised, impersonal and
conservative.
Czy chciałbyś/abyś pracować w Google? Dlaczego? (str 38)
Considering all we talked during class, I realised that it will be a great adventure to see
the company inside. As we know, Google provides a lot of attractions to keep great
teamwork like free snacks, hummocks, bowling, video games, massage chairs. It is said
to be a really friendly place to work. Because of this, it will be a pleasure to join to the
Google company.
Do you think that these advertising practices are acceptable? Are any other types of
advertisement offensive? (zad H str 45) Using children in advertisements
In my opinion it depends on parents. They are responsible for their child. They should
consider if it will be good for a baby in the future, or it will disturb (przeszkadzać) him or
her. That's should be their decision. But if I have a child, I won't let him/her be a part of
ad as long as he or she is a child.
Do you think that these advertising practices are acceptable? Are any other types of
advertisement offensive? (zad H str 45). Using actors who pretend to be 'experts'
Honestly I don't really care because I think that everyone has got their own brain, and
they should know if it's for real, or they took part in this advertising just for money.
Do you think that these advertising practices are acceptable? Are any other types of
advertisement offensive? (zad H str 45) Using nudity in advertisements
I totally don't get with using nudity in ads. For me it's really disgusting and it makes no
sense. I don't want my children to watch some nudity scenes on TV. In my opinion, it's
no acceptable.
Do you think that these advertising practices are acceptable? Are any other types of
advertisement offensive? (zad H str 45) Using 'shock tactics' in advertisements
I think it works. Advertising should be eye-catching. As we know, people remember
things if we include feeling, and that's the tactic to achieve it.
