BC. D3 – Evaluate the impact of providing support for two individuals diagnosed with different
additional needs in improving their wellbeing and life chances.
Rebecca Brown
Rebecca has greatly benefited from the help she has received, which has ensured that her specific
needs are satisfied. Rebecca has benefited from the aid she has received because it has granted her
some independence. Rebecca would have suffered immensely if she hadn't been able to receive
therapy at home after being discharged from the hospital, and the occupational therapist has been
crucial in her recovery. Rebecca's occupational therapist has been a huge help to her and her family,
ensuring that she has the necessary equipment and that she adjusts to her new role smoothly.
Without the availability of equipment such as a wheelchair, shower/toilet seats, and a changing
bench, Rebecca's occupational therapist has become the most important component of her
recovery. Rebecca's mother is her career, and if the equipment to assist Rebecca had not been
provided, her mother would have suffered greatly in caring for her; without the apparatus, Rebecca
could have been injured. Because of a lack of equipment, such as a wheelchair, shower/toilet seats,
and a changing bench, Rebecca's occupational therapist has become the most critical component of
her recovery. Rebecca's mother would have had a difficult time caring for her if the equipment had
not been provided; Rebecca could have been wounded if the equipment had not been provided. Her
life has been greatly improved as a result of the assistance provided: adapting to her current
additional needs would have been difficult without it. As a result, Rebecca's support is a tremendous
benefit that would have profoundly impacted her life because she would have received assistance in
adjusting to this difficult era, which would have benefited not only Rebecca but also her family. Her

adjusting to this difficult era, which would have benefited not only Rebecca but also her family. The
occupational therapist has also been a huge help to the family by providing them with tools to help
them care for their daughter better. Because of the tools provided, the family is able to better care
for Rebecca while also ensuring that she is not damaged. Her occupational therapist may also have
assisted her in locating suitable housing, allowing her to live independently in her own home, move
freely, and enter and exist without worry of being unable to do so or doors being too small for her
wheelchair. Her home will be carefully tailored to her special requirements, making her life easier;
she will be able to live her life knowing she has the necessary assistance; and she will be able to
develop her self-esteem and mental health by not having to worry about the challenges she may
face as a child.
Another benefit of the assistance provided is that it has allowed her to attend school and participate
in leisure activities without restriction. It is vital to make the appropriate architectural changes to
allow people with disabilities access. Rebecca attends a special needs school, which means that the
school has been modified to accommodate people like Rebecca who would benefit from it. Students
must move to the second level of the school, and the school must ensure that planning issues such
as a ramp at the entrance, expanded entrances for wheelchair access, and elevators are taken into
account. Not only will the school be improved, but all buildings are required by law to be accessible
to anyone with special needs. Rebecca would have easy access to all of the places she wanted to go.
This help is crucial to her overall health. Rebecca would be embarrassed if she didn't have access to
the building and couldn't get in because she was being watched. Because having an open access is a
significant benefit of the assistance she receives, I would have had a negative impact on her self-
