Q. 1. Monica furnishes you with the following information and requests you to
prepare a Bank
Reconciliation Statement as on 31 March, 2001,
Excess of deposits over withdrawals as per Cash Book Rs. 12500

of Rs. 840was cleared after 31 March, 2001.

Rs. 10562, on or before 31st March, 2001.

April, 2001

During the month of March, cheque worth Rs.20,000 were deposited into bank out of
which cheques worth Rs.18,000 were cleared upto 30th March.One cheque of Rs.500was
cleared on 15th April and another cheque of Rs. 1,500 was cleared on 30» May.

During March, 2001 cheques for Rs.5,000 were issued. Except one cheque of Rs.1,000 all
cheques were presented for payment before 31st March, 2001

Rs.40,500 were collected during March 2001 anda cheque of Rs. 10,100 returned unpaid.
The cash book does not show either deposit of cheques nor of the dishonor of cheque.
12 Cheque of Ra. 14,680 were paid by the bank during March 2001, out of cheques totaling
toRs.18,640 issuedduring the month.
