, Simple de abdomen
La radiografía abdominal es la primera prueba utilizada para evaluar y diagnosticar la fuente
de un dolor agudo en la región abdominal, y también de náuseas y vómitos inexplicables.
Indicaciones
Está indicada ante la sospecha clínica de: obstrucción intestinal, perforación de víscera hueca,
colecistopatías, cólico renal, peritonitis, isquemia mesentérica, traumatismo abdominal, piedras en
los riñones, vejiga urinaria e ingestión de objetos foráneos.
De igual forma puede ser utilizada para ayudar a colocar adecuadamente catéteres y tubos
utilizados para alimentar o descomprimir órganos tales como la vesícula biliar y los riñones.
Contraindicaciones:
Las mujeres deberían informarles a sus respectivos médicos si es que tienen implantado un
dispositivo intrauterino (IUD).
Las mujeres siempre deben informarle a sus respectivos médicos o tecnólogos de rayos X si existe
cualquier posibilidad de que estén embarazadas. La radiografía abdominal generalmente no se
hace en mujeres embarazadas para no exponer el bebé a la radiación.
