In de afgelopen twee decennia heeft zich een nieuw bestuur strategie ontwikkeld die collaboratieve
governance wordt genoemd. In dit artikel wordt vanuit bestaande literatuur een meta-analytische
studie uitgevoerd. Het doel hierbij is het ontwikkelen van een contigentiemodel. Aan de hand van
het contigentiemodel kan benadrukt worden of er in omstandigheden sprake is van effectieve
leiderschap of niet. Het is een goede basis voor het conceptualiseren van het
samenwerkingsproces.
Na het bestuderen van 137 cases worden er een aantal variabele genoemd die invloed uitoefenen
op een succesvolle samenwerking. De volgende variabele komen hierbij naar voren:
• Prikkels die belanghebbenden hebben om samen te werken
• Onevenwichtigheid in macht en middelen tussen belanghebbenden
Er worden ook een aantal factoren geïdentificeerd die cruciaal zijn voor het samenwerkingsproces.
