ADJUSTER - Answer- an individual employed by a property/casualty insurer to evaluate losses and settle policyholder claims; independent adjusters are independent contractors who adjust claims for different insurance companies Types of adjuster licenses - Answer- 1. Worker's Compensation Texas License Requirements - Answer- 1. 18 yrs old 2. resident of TX, or a state that permit's a resident of Texas to act as an adjuster in that state; TX license is available to adjusters living in another state. 3. complies with legal laws to work. 4. Is trustworthy 5. has passed the TX exam and has experience, education, training to be competent to fulfill the responsibilities of an adjuster 6. has completed and approved pre-licensing course complying with the minimum 40 hours required 7. passed the approved written exam Considerations on Exam - Answer- 1. Exams are submitted to the TX Dept of Ins for approval, and are monitored by approved schools on behalf of the state 2. The examination is 150 multiple choice questions in 180 minutes 3. Some math will be required-ask for scratch paper before starting the test 4. Use pencil and bring eraser for corrections 5. Passing grade is 70% (105 correct out of 150) 6. Exams are graded on completion in the classroom 7. Unsuccessful on first attempt allows the attendee to take the exam again using a different test paper Finger Prints - Answer- 1. Passing attendees will be given a form with directions on how to schedule an appointment for electronic finger printing 2. Call the number given and make an appointment as soon as possible 3. Out of state applicants are advised to make an appointment before leaving the state License Application Form - Answer- 1. Complete the application form to be an adjuster 2. Everything is now done online 3. Fee to the State is required, follow form instructions * adjuster license application is between the individual applicant and TX Dept of Ins, your application and fees payable to the state are your responsibility License Records - Answer- -place of business to be on record -can be adjuster's home or office -any changes to be recorded by TDI within 30 days Renewal of License - Answer- 1. Renews on the 2nd anniversary of your birthday after the license is issued 2. Date can be found on TDI's website 3. An adjuster is not considered lic
