VERMAATSCHAPPELIJKING VAN
ZORG
1. INLEIDING

 Uit onderzoek is gebleken dat 1/10 mensen ooit in hun leven in aanraking komen
met geestelijke gezondheidszorg.
 Vrouwen zijn vatbaarder voor psychische stoornissen
 1/3 Belgen voelt zich slecht in zijn vel
o Gevoel onder druk te staan
o Slaaptekort
o Ongelukkig voelen
 9% van de Belgen lijdt aan depressie
 Jongvolwassenen worden meest getroffen door mentale gezondheidsproblemen



Om te begrijpen waarom de zorg in de psychiatrie is wat ze nu is, moeten we stilstaan bij de
geschiedenis en bij de belangrijke sleutelmomenten in deze geschiedenis.

1. Hippocrates: verklaringen geven vanuit de medische hoek
2. Humanisme: zoeken naar een menselijke vertaling van wat men zag
3. Toevoeging wetenschap: andere inzichten ontstaan
4. Oprichting van de dolhuizen: meer organiseren van de zorg voor mensen met
psychische problemen
5. Oprichting van de psychiatrie
o Philippe Pinel in Frankrijk: grondlegger Moral treatment
o Jozef Guislain voor Vlaanderen: zorgde voor een betere omkadering
onderkomen
 Ging ervan uit dat de omgeving waarin de persoon zich bevond even
belangrijk was
 Vond het belangrijk dat ze een dag invulling hadden
 Zorgde voor een grote evolutie in de denkkaders en in de
behandelingen die gebruikt werden binnen de instelling
