Halffabrikaten zijn geen eindproducten -> ze moeten verder worden verwerkt
in constructies via verbindingstechnieken
De wanddikte bij plaatbewerking is overal gelijk, aangezien je vertrekt van 1
plaat.
Walsen
Walsen is een vormgevingstechniek waarbij een dikke plaat metaal door twee of meer walsrollen wordt
omgevormd tot vlakke platen, folies of profielen.
• Warmwalsen: materiaaleigenschappen veranderen niet
➔ Hiermee dieptrekken en lassen
• Koudwalsen: materiaaleigenschappen veranderen wel
➔ Heel sterk staal
➔ Als je een klein beetje moet vervormen
➔ Gebruikt in witgoedsector
